Over fifty Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices- Northwest Real Estate agents from all over the Portland and Vancouver area came together in October to provide landscaping help to several local service providers.   Home Builders Foundation coordinated the volunteers armed with rakes, shovels, and edgers who loaded up bags of yard debris, made small repairs, painted, and even cleaned out a large walk-in freezer.

The team started with a hearty breakfast by Celebrate Catering at the HBA and then headed out to Good Neighbor Center in Tigard, two homes for boys operated by Youth Progress in SE Portland, and Sharing House in McMinnville operated by Yamhill Community Action Partnership.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices generously donated $2,500 to the Home Builders Foundation to coordinate the volunteer day and purchase supplies for each of the sites for the day of service.

As a company Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices served 14 different organizations from the Seattle metro area south to Roseburg all in one day. Their collective efforts resulted in projects such as the building of a fence, deck and railing repairs, yard work, painting and other general maintenance projects for family shelters, transitional housing, schools and a community garden.
