Home Builders Foundation raised $267,000 at its recent 20th Annual Building Hope Gala & Auction, held on April 8th at The Nines Hotel in downtown Portland. Guests were enticed with opportunities to win Beer and Cider Walls and to bid on amazing auction packages in both the silent and live auctions – including a surprise live auction package!
After the George Lorance Vest was auctioned off to Bill Gander of Standard TV & Appliance for a record-breaking sixth time, George took the audience by surprise by taking the stage with auctioneer Kelly Russell. George invited Honorary Chair Rudy Kadlub to join him, and auctioned off Rudy’s Versace tie from the stage! Be sure to visit the Home Builders Association/Home Builders Foundation offices to see the newly-framed tie take its place beside the famous George Lorance Vest.
Other highlights of the event included the 20th Anniversary After Party, which featured a packed dance floor and the conclusion of this year’s extremely competitive Directors Mortgage Silent Auction. Congratulations to all of our auction package winners!
Home Builders Foundation would like to extend its gratitude to its event sponsors, auction donors and volunteers for making this event possible. Home Builders Foundation would also like to thank Rudy Kadlub for serving as this year’s Honorary Chair for the event, and for his leadership during the formation of the Home Builders Foundation twenty years ago.
Funds raised at this year’s Building Hope Gala & Auction will go to work immediately to address one of the region’s most challenging issues: homelessness. Home Builders Foundation will leverage the dollars raised to build and renovate shelters across the region that will allow those experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives in a safe, dignified shelter. Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Building Hope Gala & Auction!
