Kelsie Roper of The Management Trust – Northwest presented Home Builders Foundation with a check for $2,000. This generous donation will go towards HBF’s Shelter Restoration Project, which aims to help preserve Portland’s fragile homeless shelters.
Many of the homeless shelters in the Portland metro area are in significant disrepair due to deferred maintenance, inadequate facilities funding, and heavy usage. This situation can pose health and safety hazards to shelter residents, as well as the longer term risk of losing a portion of our community’s shelter bed inventory entirely.
HBF has developed an innovative strategy for solving this pressing issue by providing shelters with assistance in meeting immediate repair needs along with long-term training, capacity building, and support to prevent this situation from occurring again. The Shelter Restoration Project leverages HBF’s extensive network of contractors along with the expertise of The Management Trust.
