Help HBF celebrate its 10th Annual Trap Shoot!

September 12 marks the tenth anniversary of one of the home building industry’s most unique and fun events – the Trap Shoot, presented by Parr Lumber! This year, teams are slated to mount their guns at the traps this year at Portland Gun Club on Friday, September 12. Team competition promises to be fierce but fun as team ranging in skill level from expert sharpshooters to novices who’ve never shot trap before go through two rounds at the trap.

8J2C2921-272In addition to the two rounds of team competition, individuals also have the chance to compete in the Annie Oakley Sharpshooter competition, one of the day’s most exciting events. This event tests individual’s skill, patience and timing as they are pitted against each other in a tense, hold-your-breath competition.

Always a highlight, this year’s Trap Shoot raffle is sure to be a hit with donations from Cabela’s and Kershaw Knives. Cabela’s, which will open its Tualatin store this fall, has generously donated $1,000 worth of merchandise as raffle prizes.

This event, the Foundation’s second-largest fundraiser of the year, will raise funds for the renovation of Portland Rescue Mission’s shelter for homeless women. The renovation includes increasing bed space along with adding a restroom, kitchenette and dining space. HBF aims to complete the renovation, headed up by seasoned Builder Captain Nathan Young, by October when Portland Rescue Mission opens its winter shelter.

Trophy and Shells rotatedThis event would not be possible without the generous support of its sponsors: Parr Lumber, Cascade Windows, James Hardie, Carr Nissan, Weyerhaeuser/Trus Joist EWP, Napoleon Hearth Products, DR Horton, NW Natural, Cabela’s, Franz Bakery, and Kershaw Knives.
