HBF welcomes Chris McDowell as new Project Manager

Home Builders Foundation would like to welcome Chris McDowell as the new Project Manager for the HBF! Chris has taken over the Project Manager position after Brenda Ketah was selected as Executive Director for the HBF.

Chris moved to Oregon from Athens, Georgia in the fall of 2017. Prior to the move, he was co-owner of a design build firm in New Orleans that focused on small residential and commercial renovations. For six year, Chris ran the Material Reuse Program at University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design, an academic unit that led teams of students on community design and construction projects utilizing reclaimed materials. He learned construction and volunteer management as a carpenter and house captain for Rebuilding Together New Orleans, leading volunteers on renovation projects in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Chris also has a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati.

Chris will take over project management for the HBF’s shelter projects. If you’d like to learn more about how to get involved with projects, or want to welcome Chris to the HBF team, you can reach him at chrism@hbapdx.org.
