Since its founding in 1989, HomeAid’s vision is to be a vital force in ending homelessness. Our mission is to build new lives for families and individuals experiencing homelessness through housing and community outreach and over the years HomeAid has held steadfast to fundamental core values. The one that resonates so clearly in recent weeks is that every individual has worth and human dignity and deserves the basic provision of shelter as a necessity of life.

Driven by this mission and core value, HomeAid commits itself to ending racial disparities in the homelessness sector, confronting structural racism in our nation, and expanding our work on housing inclusivity and human rights through our key programs revolving around Housing, Community Outreach and Advocacy. HomeAid is dedicated to these efforts through listening, continual learning, and action towards positive change, and pledges to prioritize resources in our work on racial equity and homelessness, and to help advance the field in this work.

The path forward may not be easy, but it is clear – HomeAid stands in solidarity with our colleagues dedicated to end pervasive structural racism in the United States. We commit to partner, further collaborate and have courageous conversations with individuals and organizations that are leading equity efforts. Furthermore, HomeAid vows to continue to make the necessary investments in diversity, equity and inclusivity training and education within our own organization and in the communities where we work.
