2009 Painting A Better Tomorrow Event Announcement
On Saturday, November 7, the Home Builders Foundation will coordinate teams of volunteers from the home building community to provide painting, cleaning and minor repairs to facilities owned or operated by non-profit service providers serving the homeless in the greater Portland Metropolitan region.Painting a Better Tomorrow is a one-day, volunteer blitz program. Members and friends of the Home Builders Association (HBA) and Foundation will volunteer their time, gather supplies and organize work crews to complete projects in one-day, on November 7th.The Foundation’s shelter building arm, HomeAid Portland, builds or renovates dignified housing for homeless families so they can rebuild their lives. This shelter care, and one-day volunteer blitz program addresses the growing need for painting and general maintenance to facilities AND allows industry leaders to directly contribute to the community by doing what they do best. This is a terrific opportunity to get involved in your community. Non-profit homeless care providers will submit applications to receive assistance from home building professionals involved in your community. Business leaders, volunteers and friends will step forward to donate time, materials and cash to “create a sense of home” for those who have none. How can I help??? If you know of a potential project that can be completed in one day, or want to get your organization involved with our important work please contact us:Home Builders Foundation15555 SW Bangy Rd., Ste 301 | Lake Oswego, OR 97035Phone: 503-684-1880Email: mel@hbapdx.org | Melanie Tashima Duncan, Foundation DirectorDownload forms and information at: www.homebuildersportland.org/PABTProviderPage.htmShelter applications due: Tuesday, March 31.
