Community Engagement

During times of crisis and transition, it can be challenging for individuals and families to provide for even their most basic needs. Home Building Foundation-HomeAid Portland works to provide dignity and restore hope through various community engagement programs, including:

HomeAid Care Days

HomeAid Care Days are hands-on volunteer workdays during which minor repairs and upgrades are made at homeless service facilities. Tasks like painting, landscaping, cleaning, and small construction projects are done at no charge based on each organization’s need.

If you are interested in participating in a Care Day or CareKit event, please contact hbf@hbapdx.org for additional information.

HomeAid CareKits

In 2014, HomeAid began its CareKits initiative. CareKits are hygiene kits packed by volunteers and donated to local providers of homeless services. Since 2014, HomeAid has assembled and donated thousands of CareKits in partnership with Bank of America and other industry partners.
