HomeAid to celebrate 25th anniversary
Did you know that Home Builders Foundation is a chapter of HomeAid?2014 marks the 25th anniversary of HomeAid America on their mission to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. Through the years, HomeAid has inspired building industry members, the business community, governments and volunteers to take action to n=help those in need.HomeAid currently has 15 chapters in 10 states, with plans to add more. HomeAid works with some of the leading builders in America to build and renovate housing for service providers helping the homeless. Through the generosity of these builders, their trade partners, financial institutions, and the public, HomeAid has build more than 360 multi-unit shelters valued at more than $200 million, adding 7,500 beds for the homeless. Since HomeAid's founding in 1989, these beds have helped over 190,000 people while they reclaim their lives.HomeAid also has numerous service programs that touch the lives of thousands. These programs include HomeAid CareKits providing personal hygiene items to homeless shelters, and Essentials for Young Lives that provides baby products for homeless parents. There is also the Painting a Better Tomorrow program that assists in the maintenance of local homeless shelters. In this our 25th year, we will be spotlighting HomeAid's growth and successes throughout the year to help raise awareness of the critical issue of homelessness, as well as celebrate the builders, donors, volunteers and others who helped us address it.
