| Home Builders Foundation (HBF) is continuing to explore what role it might play in helping shelter and transitional housing providers maintain and repair their facilities. Deferred maintenance, tight budgets, and heavy usage have put some shelters in jeopardy. Maintaining shelter beds for those experiencing homelessness in our community should be our priority.You are invited to hear about the results of a survey we have conducted with area shelter providers about their maintenance and repair needs, steps we have taken to assess the costs associated with common repair and maintenance issues, and discuss strategies to address this need that may include other foundations, financial institutions, real estate and property management professionals, and members of the residential and commercial building industries. A complimentary full breakfast and free parking will be provided.

Kris specializes in complex projects that require strong analytical and research skills and effective coordination with diverse stakeholders. Kris holds a Ph.D. in sociology and is the author of Democracy in Action (Columbia University Press, 2004).Kelsie Roper is the Executive VP and General Manager of The Management Trust- Northwest. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from OSU where she focused her studies on pre-law. The Management Trust represents more than 1,500 community associations nationwide, including condo associations, homeowner associations high rise communities and many others. |
