14TH ANNUAL TRAP SHOOT PRESENTED BY PARR LUMBER RAISES RECORD $110,000

The 14th Annual Trap Shoot, presented by Parr Lumber and benefiting Home Builders Foundation (HBF), was the biggest yet. Held on Friday, September 14, this year’s shooting competition drew over 65 teams to the Portland Gun Club – the biggest crowd yet to attend the event. As the fog lifted and shooters were going through registration, Divine 9 served up a hearty and delicious breakfast to get everyone ready for the competition ahead.  Throughout the day the teams took their best shot at taking home the trophy, but it was Everett Custom Homes that came to win, and they did just that, taking home the 1st Place Gold Medal followed by Stratfordgates.com in 2nd place and Riggs Construction in 3rd place.First-time winner Mackenzie Wiseman took home the trophy in the women’s only round of the Builders Capital Annie Oakley Competition. Ted Troutman, Dennis Hernley, and Harry Shook were the top three shooters in the largest-ever mixed round of the Builders Capital Annie Oakley Competition, which had over 100 shooters participating.Between rounds, shooters had plenty to do at the event. This year, Fireside Home Solutions opened a VIP Lounge for shooters to hang out in with plush outdoor furniture and fire tables, which shooters could then purchase in the silent auction.  Shooters could play games of cornhole, giant jenga, and ladderball thanks to Montgomery & Graham.  For the first time ever we raffled off a Benelli shotgun thanks to Oregon Truss and Mike Snyder of Benelli.  After the competition ended, shooters could enjoy a cold adult beverage at the James Hardie After Party.Home Builders Foundation is proud to announce that the event made over $110,000!  Funds raised at this event will support HBF’s mission to build and renovate shelters for those experiencing homelessness throughout the Portland metro area.To see more pictures from the competition and from the Lennar/Turbo Painting Photo Booth, check out Home Builders Foundation’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/hbfoundation
