Home Builders Foundation raises $298,260 at the 22nd Annual Building Hope Gala & Auction

This year’s Building Hope Gala & Auction presented by California Closets proved to be another successful year for Home Builders Foundation. The event, held on April 13th at The Nines Hotel in downtown Portland, raised nearly $300,000 to help build and renovate shelters for those experiencing homelessness throughout the Portland metro area.

Led by Honorary Chair Nate Bond, President and CEO of PacificCrest Custom Cabinetry, this year’s Building Hope Gala & Auction wassupported by leaders in the home building industry including Parr Lumber, Nate& Karen Bond of Pacific Crest Custom Cabinetry, Jason & Jill Behunin ofBuilders FirstSource, Randy Sebastian of Renaissance Homes, and Randy &Naquel VanLant of Macadam Floor & Design, all of whom supported HomeBuilders Foundation with significant contributions to the event.

The Building Hope Gala & Auction drew a record 453attendees to The Nines Hotel for an incredible night of fundraising. Attendeeshad the opportunity to bid on amazing live auction packages that included uniqueexperiences such as a turkey hunt with Steve Rosling of Cascade Sotheby’sInternational Realty, a weekend getaway at the Stoller Family Estate’s guesthouses with numerous tours and tastings of the local vineyards, and the DateNight For A Year package that had twelve inventive dates including overnightstaycations, cooking classes, and much more! This year’s Golden Ticket winner Steve Kaer of Kaer Property Groupsurprised everyone in the room when he announced he would not take any packageout of the live auction so Home Builders Foundation would have a chance toraise more money!

Home Builders Foundation highlighted its partnership withthe New Meadows, a transitional housing facility for youth aging out of fostercare, during its special appeal. Home Builders Foundation recruited RenaissanceHomes and Walsh Construction to serve as the Builder Captains for this extensivenew build, which has ten studio and five one-bedroom apartments as well ascommunal space for New Avenues’ programming. Home Builders Foundation raised anincredible $80,900 during the special appeal thanks to the support of attendeesas well as donors who were not in attendance.

Home Builders Foundation focuses on building and renovatingshelters for those who are most vulnerable when homeless, including familieswith children, youth, and domestic violence survivors. Home Builders Foundationcompletes shelter builds and renovations by leveraging donations from companiesin the home building industry and providing cash grants to shelter providers tocomplete projects.
