Hat's Off to the Gala!
The dream team is at it again for the 2023 Home Building Foundation Building Hope Gala and Auction. Our wonderful HBF auction committee met in April at the venue for the event, the gorgeous Tumwater Vineyard in West Linn.
This year’s theme is Kentucky Derby, complete with a hat contest. The auction team has a head start, taking a trip together to the store “ You Can Leave Your Hat On” in Oregon City to buy theirs as they prepare for the big night.
Our presenting sponsor is California Closets, joined by nearly 30 other companies. The evening will be led by two fantastic honorary chairs, long time HBF volunteer leaders Jim Standring, and Luke Morley. This lively event supports HBF’s important work; building shelter for people experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless, and connecting people to living wage careers in home building.
The 26th Gala and Auction is a popular event. Tables are sold out for June 3 Gala, but that shouldn’t stop you from donning a hat in the comfort of your own home, and participating in the auction. Starting May 26, you can buy a ticket on line for two raffles with fabulous prizes. Or, start bidding on fabulous items in our silent auction. Go to BuildHopepdx.org to register.
The $ 100 “Golden Ticket” enters you in a drawing for an item of your choice from the live auction list. You could choose a vacation abroad, such as Barcelona, Florence ,Italy, or Edinburgh. Only 100 tickets will be sold, so jump on it. Or, A $50 raffle ticket ( 200 available) gives you a chance to win a beautiful pendant from LaRog Jewelers, featuring rose gold, and a ruby.
You’ll want to check out some of the amazing items in the silent auction, which will remain on line until 5pm June 7th. Looking for Blazer tickets? Or how about a special Timber’s Game? Those are two of the great items you can pick up even if you cannot attend the event.
Whether it is in person, or from home, we don’t want you to miss our 26th Gala. If you have any questions, or if you’d like to donate an item, please contact Kyle Ellerbe, Kylee@hbapdx.org.
