7th Annual HBF Trap Shoot Draws a Big Crowd and Raises over $20K

Expert and novice shooters, sponsors and volunteers came together with a common goal, aiming to end homelessness. This event, now in its seventh year, raises money annually for the HBF to continue its work to build and repair homeless shelters throughout the Portland metro area.  Event proceeds this year will support the HBF’s two year commitment to renovate the Portland Rescue Mission’s Burnside Shelter and Next Step facilities.“It feels great to have the home building industry coming together for such an important cause,” says Jeff Steffl of PROBuild and the 2011 Trap Shoot Committee Chair. “We had 30 teams competing this year, our best turnout in 7 years of hosting the event.  The generosity of our industry continues to amaze me; more and more people want to get involved in the Home Builders Foundation’s mission of building shelter for the temporarily homeless.”The event raised an estimated $20,000 for the Foundation’s shelter development program, including the upcoming work at the Portland Rescue Mission.
