Paint rivals and others unite through the Painting a Better Tomorrow program

The Home Builders Foundation’s annual homeless shelter spruce-up happens Nov. 10November 5, 2012 (Portland) - The Portland Home Builders Foundation is again launching their one day volunteer blitz to help clean up, paint and perform minor repairs on Portland area non-profit agency buildings serving the homeless. Teams of volunteers from the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland will descend upon these facilities on November 10 to give back to the community.Now in its seventh year, Painting a Better Tomorrow is a joint effort of the home building community and the generosity of Miller Paint, Rodda Paint, Bank of the West, Amy Roloff Charity Foundation and the Randall Charitable Trust.“It’s great to see competitors joining together for a worthy cause,” said Ken Cowdery, Executive Director of the HBF. “Painting a Better Tomorrow brightens the lives of shelter residents and demonstrates the commitment the HBA has to our community.”This year, teams of HBA members will paint and improve Janus Youth-Imani House, Bradley Angle Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter, Catholic Charities’ Kateri Park and Transition Projects’ Jean’s Place.While these wonderful programs and their residents and staff benefit directly from this annual event, the volunteers leave with a deep sense of service well done for those who are truly in need.
