Congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year!
While hundreds of people and companies support the Home Builders Foundation, one company and one individual went above and beyond with their support this year for the organization.
Jeff Melberg of Fireside Home Solutions, has been a staple on the HBF Trap Shoot Committee since the beginning. Jeff has played a major role in the event since its inception, and this year was no different. From sponsoring the event to recruiting new teams, to hauling chairs with his personal vehicle to securing a drone to take new footage of the event, Jeff was an invaluable part of the Trap Shoot team. Jeff also personally recruited the current chair for the Trap Shoot Committee, who recently agreed to take on an unprecedented third term as chair.Jeff’s dedication to the Trap Shoot and Home Builders Foundation made him the perfect candidate to honor with the 2015 HBF Volunteer of the Year Award. In addition to his dedication to the Trap Shoot, Jeff has also been a lynchpin in HBF projects, making key introductions to companies who donate both time and materials. In fact, Jeff introduced HBF to its 2015 Company of the Year, Performance Insulation!
Performance Insulation initially got involved with HBF through an energy retrofit at both Smith House and Jordan House, facilities run by Youth Progress that houses young boys coming out of the care of Oregon Youth Authority. Performance Insulation discounted the wall and ceiling insulation for the facility, which made the facility much more comfortable for the residents staying there. Insulating the facility will also save the shelter operator on heating costs.Performance Insulation also stepped in as the Valet Sponsor for the Building Hope Gala & Auction, providing complimentary parking for all guests of the event. The company also made sure shooters at the Trap Shoot were properly caffeinated as the Coffee Sponsor for the event. Because of this company’s support for both HBF events and projects, HBF has chosen Performance Insulation as its 2015 Company of the Year.Performance Insulation and Jeff were honored at this year’s Builders Ball in November.
