12th Annual HBF Trap Shoot raises $81,000 for Home Builders Foundation

It was nothing but sunshine and shotguns for the 12th Annual Home Builders Foundation Trap Shoot, presented by Parr Lumber. The event, held on Friday, September 16th at the Portland Gun Club, drew 56 teams for a fun day of competition and fundraising for the Home Builders Foundation.The day kicked off with a delicious hot breakfast courtesy of the Divine 9. Shooters got their practice rounds in early at the Cascade Windows Practice Traps. After a beautiful rendition of the national anthem by Trap Shoot Committee member Jessica Milano, the completion began! Competition was stiff this year, but Merten & Sons Landscaping took home first place with a score of 223. Hot on their heels were Lisac’s Fireplaces & Stoves, who took second with a 219 and Everett Custom Homes, who took third place with a 215.After a tough shootout between perennial top-two opponents Nikki Seibel and Lauren Plagman, Lauren captured the championship title of women’s only round of the DR Horton Annie Oakley Competition, and received a $150 cash prize. With nearly 100 shooters participating in the mixed round of the DR Horton Annie Oakley Competition, this year’s competition went down to the wire. Chuck McClarity was crowned as Annie Oakley Champion, winning a cash prize of $150. While the competition took place, attendees enjoyed a delicious BBQ catered lunch courtesy of Lennar.After the shooting was over, attendees gathered at the James Hardie After Party and enjoyed a cold beverage after a fun and exciting day of competition.Home Builders Foundation would like to thank all of the shooters, sponsors, committee members, raffle donors, and volunteers for making this year’s Trap Shoot a huge success and helping us raise $81,000 for HBF projects.
