Home Builders Foundation presented Travis Olson with the Volunteer of the Year Award, and California Closets with its Company of the Year Award. These awards are given to individuals and companies who are involved with multiple facets of the HBF, including events and projects.Travis Olson, part of the Olson-Waller team at Directors Mortgage, has only been involved with the HBF for a few years, but has already made a significant impact on the organization. Directors Mortgage had been a consistent supporter of the Building Hope Gala & Auction, but when Travis came on board, he jumped in with both feet. Travis tripled Directors Mortgage’s support of the event, and had the company come in as a sponsor for the Trap Shoot. Travis also volunteers on the Building Hope Committee and contributes his time and connections to make sure the event is top notch. Every event Travis is involved with is better for it, which is why he was selected as the HBF Volunteer of the Year.California Closets originally got involved with HBF through its sponsorship of the Building Hope Gala & Auction. After learning more about the organization, California Closets became a major donor to projects, providing much needed storage to several shelters undergoing remodels under the guidance of the HBF. Over the past few years, California Closets has donated more than $15,000 worth of labor and materials to projects, in addition to its monetary support of the HBF through event sponsorship. For its dedication to support of the HBF, California Closets was selected as the HBF Company of the Year.
