Home Building Foundation is celebrating a milestone this summer, marking 35 years of HomeAid's mission to end homelessness.

Home Building Foundation will impact the lives of hundreds of people experiencing homelessness after its 2024 Building Hope Gala and Auction. More than $500,000 was pledged during the annual dinner and auction June 1 at Tumwater Vineyards in West Linn.

Home Building Foundation likes to thank some of our outstanding volunteers by declaring them “Foundation Heroes”. We’d like to introduce you to someone who has gone above and beyond to help our projects in the past two years. Erik Brakstad of Brakstad Builders is the Construction Trainer at Tivnu: Building Justice.

Each shelter project HBF completes involves hundreds of hours of work, and the generosity of the community. First, our nonprofit partners reach out to see if HBF can help repair, remodel, or build a facility to help people in need.

We periodically honor members of the community who make a meaningful contribution to our organization. HBF would like to acknowledge Taylor Wick, who is Rick’s Custom Fencing & Decking’s Director of Marketing & Community Outreach.

HBF and members of the residential building community have been working for more than a year to shore up the aging houses that Project Homeless Connect uses to provide services.

Our friends @scottedwardsarchitecture showed up on an October Saturday morning to build eight sturdy picnic tables. The tables are now in place at  @portlandgov Sunderland Safe Park Village.
