13th Annual HBF Trap Shoot draws record crowd, raises record funds

The 13th Annual Trap Shoot, presented by Parr Lumber and benefiting Home Builders Foundation, was the biggest yet. Held on Friday, September 15th, this year’s shooting competition drew over 60 teams to the Portland Gun Club – the biggest crowd yet to attend the event. This year’s event was a year of firsts: the first ever silent auction, the first ever VIP Shooters Lounge, and the first ever tie for first place! Mascotte Home Security and Merten & Sons Landscaping teams tied during competition at 223 each. Teams elected one representative for a shoot-off to break the tie. Mascotte Home Security took the tie breaker, winning the overall competition for the first time.Lauren Plagman took home the trophy in the women’s only round of the DR Horton Annie Oakley Competition for the second year in a row. John Kozlowski, Lee Remmers, and Jared Halter were the top three shooters in the largest-ever mixed round of the DR Horton Annie Oakley Competition, which had over 100 shooters participating.Between rounds, shooters had plenty to do at the event. This year, Fireside Home Solutions opened a VIP Lounge with plush outdoor furniture and fire tables for shooters to hang out. Shooters could place bids in the first-ever silent auction, or play a game of cornhole thanks to Montgomery & Graham. After competition ended, shooters could enjoy a cold adult beverage at the James Hardie After Party.Home Builders Foundation is proud to announce that the event made over $90,000. Funds raised at this event will support HBF’s mission to build and renovate shelters for those experiencing homelessness throughout the Portland metro area.To view pictures from the event, click here.Congratulations to our winners: 1st Place – Mascotte Home Security (223 – tie breaker winner)2nd Place – Merten & Sons Landscaping (223)3rd Place – Riggs Construction (217)Top Women’s Team – Fireside Hot Shots (99)1st Place Annie Oakley Women’s Only Round – Lauren Plagman1st Place Annie Oakley Mixed Round – John Kozlowski (Exterior Wood, Inc.)2nd Place Annie Oakley Mixed Round – Lee Remmers (Everett Custom Homes)3rd Place Annie Oakley Mixed Round – Jared Halter (Merten & Sons Landscaping)
