Home Builders Foundation gives $10,000 to veterans shelter

Dry rot repair has already begun on the facilityHome Builders Foundation presented a check for $10,000 for the Salvation Army Veterans and Family Shelter last Friday, October 21st. The funds, awarded to Home Builders Foundation from Bank of America, will go towards the repair of dry rot damage to the facility's exterior.This shelter, located in Beaverton, provides supportive housing for up to seventy veterans and their families. It is the only shelter in Washington county that allows veterans and family members to stay together. Through intensive case management and collaboration with the Veterans Administration, clients are provided with the tools necessary to become self-sufficient.Veterans Sportsmans Alliance, in partnership with Westlake Development, also presented the shelter with $10,000. Funds were raised from the "Combat Boots & Country Roots" concert held in August at the Crystal Ballroom.
